Often, when we think of focus we get a single thought, task or process in our mental state that drives us to achieve whatever that image is.
However, have you ever looked at focus as a mental exercise that allows you to take committed and dedicated action continuously without much effort. And when you don’t it a loss of focus.
What do I mean by this? Maintaining a focused life requires conscious behavior and taking conscious action. These actions determine our victorious outcome in every situation.
If and whether we do is an equally important as what we do.
Inactivity is also an action… it’s a decision to do nothing. Which is equated to not making a decision or taking no action at all. This too is loosing focus.
Your focus in life is a chess match. And if you know anything about chess, it means making the proper sacrifices to gain strategic position, while avoiding sacrilegious activities that cost you strategic ground is the strategy to winning.
But you cannot, not make the correct moves or even win if you refuse to consciously engage and act.
There is so much in life that comes to rob and steal our focus. But God has given us a strategy to remain focused and win the war for our mind.
One way we can do this is, begin to wake up to God’s Word that lives in you. Making it the source of all we do. Developing the habit to operate in the Word both consciously and subconsciously.
Subconscious action would be the things we do automatically without thinking. But, in this final war for our mind, we do not have the luxury to just do things automatically, without thinking!
It may cost You the game of life!
Even when operating subconsciously through the Word of God we must do so with His thoughts in mind and ask Him for the wisdom during the season we find ourselves.
ANYTHING we consistently do, in time, becomes a subconscious activity or behavior. GOOD or BAD! Right or Wrong!
The only way to change our behavior, habits or activities is to CONSCIOUSLY make the decision to do so, but you must also be CONSISTENT or the effects will be short-lived.
Focus on becoming intentional in your Word-based decisions and Spirit-led actions.
Though, consistently employing the Word of God consciously is obviously necessary to continually evolve to where obeying His Word and taking the actions He would have us take, become the nature we exemplify.
We seek to operate daily in obedient faith with conscious actions and behaviors even when performing subconsciously. This, I believe will help us continually outwit the enemy of our mind and achieve the focus in life we need to accomplish our goals and dreams!
And even exceed them…
Most people who remain focused, only do one things at a time and they do it extremely well. And because they are consistent and committed, it may look like they are doing multiple things simultaneously.
That’s because, subconsciously they are doing other things that contribute to the successful outcome of the one sole thing they remain focused on.
Their mind and thoughts are not all over the place. Randomly trying to process all their fear, doubts and unbeliefs. But, they are concentrated on that one thing that requires all their mental activity at that particular moment.
You can’t let you mind be all over the place and still accomplish the thing that requires your focus. You’ll loose sight of your goal every time and eventually become mentally exhausted and quit.
Steps to Take Action
Here are some practical steps you can take today to help you take action and achieve the focus in life you need:
- Begin taking the necessary actions to change your behavior that has hindered your progress.
- Stop negative behavior and thoughts that are limiting your potential and keeping your from seeing your true identity.
- Pursue what God has for you with all your strength and might and not allow negativity to stop you.
- Meditate on The Word of God daily and allow the Power of The Spirit to guide you, help you, and lead you into your destiny.
Remember, anything we want to be successful at, needs to ultimately become subconscious, meaning you do it automatically without thinking about it.
However, if we have the mind of God, then we are thinking like He thinks and can do this safely.
If not, we are in for disaster, because our mind has not been renewed enough to just go with the flow and do it any which way! This is why many folks face disaster… there is no concerted and consistent focus, so when things get difficult you quit.
So, then operating in the Word, by Faith and through the Power of The Spirit is what we should consciously and subconsciously seek to become good at. When you do, nothing become impossible to you because your remain in belief and can do all things.
And you can only do this by maintaining a focused life and taking conscious and consistent action.
